"Peace is born of a new heart"

"Peace is not authentic if it not the fruit of justice...And a society is not just
nor humane if it does not respect the fundamental rights of a human being. For the rest,
the spirt of war rises and matures where the inalianalbe rights of mankind are violated.
Even when dictatorship and totalitarianism suffocates for a time the laments of those
exploited and oppressed, a just man is convinced that nothing can justify this violation
of rights of mankind; has the courage to defend others who suffer and refuses to surrender
before injustices, to compromise with it; and for how
paradoxical it may seem, one who profoundly desires peace rejects all forms of
pacification that reduces to cowardness or simple maintenance of tranquility.
Indeed, those who are tempted to impose their power, will always find the resistance of
intelligent and valiant men and women, ready to defend liberty for the promotion of
justice."

"La paz no es auténtica si no es fruto de la justicia...Y una sociedad no es
justa ni humana si no respeta los derechos fundamentales de la persona humana. Por lo
demás, el espíritu de guerra surge y madura allí donde se violan los derechos
inalienables del hombre. Incluso cuando la dictadura y el totalitarismo sofocan por un
tiempo el lamento de los explotados y oprimidos, el hombre justo está convencido de que
nada puede justificar esta violación de los derechos del hombre; tiene el coraje de
defender a los demás en sus sufrimientos y se niega a capitular ante la injusticia, a
comprometerse con ella; y por muy paradójico que
parezca, el que desea profundamente la paz rechaza toda forma de pacifismo que se reduzca
a cobardía o simple mantenimiento de la tranquilidad. Efectivamente,
los que están tentados de imponer su dominio, encontrarán siempre la resistencia de
hombres y mujeres inteligentes y valientes, dispuestos a defender la libertad para
promover la justicia".
